Essence/Toner
REPLY Essence/Toner combines the beneficial properties of both an essence and a toner into a single formulation.
As a hybrid product, it provides multiple skincare benefits in a simple one-step product that conveniently keeps
caring for your skin.
Our Essence/Toner should be used as a hydration and treatment base for the Day & Night Cream.
The formulation is water-based to replenish the skin’s moisture levels, promoting a hydrated complexion.
This combined Essence/Toner optimizes the skin’s readiness to receive the benefits of the Day & Night Cream by
balancing pH levels to prepare for better absorption.
While hydration and pH balance are the main functions of the Essence/Toner, the addition of many
nourishing botanical ingredients, such as barley seed extract, gotu kola extract, sodium hyaluronate,
saccharomyces ferment filtrate, mushroom extract and more, help to replenish and nourish the skin, leaving it
feeling hydrated, supple and youthful.
Barley Seed Extract (Hordeum vulgare)
Sensitive skin is highly vulnerable to damage, often leading to dryness and cracking.
As skin ages, it becomes thinner, less elastic and prone to deeper wrinkles and moisture loss.
Barley seed extract has been shown to stimulate extracellular matrix production and provide
pro-aging benefits for sensitive skin, addressing fine lines and wrinkles while revitalizing injured skin.
This includes improvements in fibroblast proliferation, collagen and elastin production, and hyaluronic acid synthesis.
There is also inhibition of matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1), an enzyme involved in the breakdown
of collagen in the extracellular matrix of the skin.

Can I use the Essence/Toner as a second cleansing step?
Yes, you can apply the Essence/Toner to a cotton pad and wipe away any remaining skin impurities.
We do recommend that you cleanse thoroughly with the Oil to Foam Cleanser first and then mist the Essence/Toner
onto your face until the desired hydration is achieved.
