If you beat yourself up over sugar or salt cravings, this is for you.

Most people I talk to feel ashamed of their cravings.

They quietly label themselves as “undisciplined” or “addicted” and try to fight harder.

Here is what changed everything for them.

Instead of asking, “What’s wrong with my willpower?”

I started asking different questions:

• What and when did you last eat?

• How stressed have you been today?

• Have you actually hydrated, or just had coffee and snacks?

Again and again, a pattern showed up.

Cravings lined up with:

• Long gaps without real food and crashing blood sugar

• Low minerals from ultra-processed or low-quality meals

• Emotional stress where food felt like the fastest relief button

In other words, cravings were not proof of failure.

They were messages.

“Something is low.”

“Something is off.”

“Something needs care.”

When you treat cravings as information instead of a character flaw, everything shifts.

You stop asking, “Why am I so weak?”

You start asking, “What is my body asking for right now?”

That might look like:

• A real meal with protein and fiber, instead of grazing

• Electrolytes or mineral-rich foods when you want something salty

• A walk, a deep breath, or a boundary when stress is screaming

Your cravings are not out to ruin you.

They are trying to recruit you as a better caretaker.

Reframe the story:

Cravings are signals, not verdicts.
