Colourful apps. Complicated charts. Macro targets. Reminder alerts.
Result:
More stress. Same low energy.
So I scrapped it all and tried the simplest experiment I could think of.
For 7 days, I used a plain notes page.
No calories.
No math.
Just 3 things:
1) What I ate and drank
2) What products or supplements I used
3) My energy and mood rated 1 to 10 a few hours later
Example entry:
Breakfast: eggs + toast, multivitamin
2 pm check‑in: Energy 8 / Mood 7
Lunch: fast food
5 pm check‑in: Energy 3 / Mood 4
By the end of the week, patterns popped out.
I was calmer and more focused on the days I actually remembered my nutrition products.
I was crashing hard on the afternoons after certain “treat” foods.
No app had ever made that feel so obvious.
This little journal is not about perfection.
It is not about judging your body.
It is about noticing cause and effect so you can make choices that actually give you more stamina.
Treat your nutrition products as one of the variables.
Use them on some days, skip on others, and watch how your numbers shift.
Let your own data show you what helps.
If you want to try this without overthinking it, DM me the word “TRACK” and I will send you a simple 7‑day energy log you can print or save to your phone.
