AIMComposure
is a special blend of the extracts of eight herbs that work together
to supply the body with some of the nutrients that can be depleted
in times of stress.
When severe
stress strikes, a number of things happen:
- Your body's
ability to digest food is interrupted; thus, it is more difficult
to get important nutrients
- Your immunity
is reduced because stress reduces the efficacy of your T cells,
which help fight infection
- Blood hormones
trigger the secretion of adrenaline, which triggers a rise in blood
pressure. This increases blood flow to the brain and muscles and
stimulates the liver to convert glycogen (stored sugar) into glucose.
Proteins from the thymus and lymph glands are converted to sugar
for instant energy. The body also looks for extra minerals and fats
If your stress
is of short duration, your body is able to deal with and recover from
these changes. However, if stress is an everyday affair for you, the
body continually experiences these changes, and, if your diet is not
what it should be, your storage of nutrients may run low and damage
may take place. This is perhaps what you feel as stress; the boy crying
for nutrients. You are irritable, can't sleep and can't eat. Ensuring
that your body has the proper nutrients can help prevent physical
deterioration due to stress and make you feel better.
Benefits of
AIMComposure
The herbs found in AIMComposure work together to help your
body in times of stress. Together, they give your body nutrients that
help you out:
- Nutrients
that help your adrenal glands, which stimulate the liver to convert
glycogen (stored sugar) to glucose
- Nutrients
that help fight infection that could result when ill or stressed
- Nutrients
that help keep the thymus, which produces the T cells that fight
disease, from shrinking and working less in times of stress
Contents of
AIMComposure
Taken as a whole, AIMComposure contains protein, carbohydrates,
vitamins A and C, thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), calcium
and iron. Many of the individual herbs in AIMComposure also
contain flavonoids. Flavonoids are chemical compounds found in fruits,
vegetables, nuts and seeds that often have beneficial effects. Flavonoids
have been found to stimulate the immune system and their ongoing study
may contribute to a better understanding of the effects of the environment
on our immune system and on the development and control of allergies.
AIMComposure uses herbal extracts. This means that you do not
have to take as may capsules to get the same benefits, and the quantity
of active ingredients remains consistent. The extract is obtained
through a process that uses water, not harmful solvents. AIMComposure
is 100% natural. There are no artificial colours, flavours, or preservatives,
nor are there any added sugars, salts, yeast, or fillers.
Following are the individual herbs that make up AIMComposure:
Alfalfa Medicago
sativa
Today, alfalfa is commonly known as a forage food for livestock, but
historically it was used as an important foodstuff for humans. It
is also one of the oldest food grains to be domesticated, having been
cultivated as long ago as 490 B.C. First introduced to the United
States in 1850, alfalfa's popularity quickly grew because of its nutritive
qualities. It is a source of chlorophyll, beta-carotene and minerals.
It is especially rich in minerals, as it pulls up nutrients from root
depths as great as 130 feet. Alfalfa grows from Maine to as far south
as Virginia, and then westward across the continent to the Pacific
coast
Irish Moss
Chondrus crispus
Actually a seaweed, this interesting plant saved many poor Irish during
the potato famine of the mid-19th century. It has been consumed fro
hundreds of years and grows along the coastlines of both sides of
the Atlantic Ocean. Irish immigrants who found the moss growing along
the shores of Canada and New England were the first to use the plant
in North America. It contains 15 of the 18 elements composing the
human body. It contains vitamins A,D,E, and K and is also high in
iodine and calcium.
Marshmallow
Root Althaea officinalis
A source of food and other benefits, the tender tops of the marsh
mallow plant are still eaten in France, a tradition dating back to
when the emperor Charlemagne ordered the plant to be cultivated during
the seventh century. It gets its botanical name from the Greek word
although, which means, "to heal." The entire marsh mallow
plant, including the root, leaves and flowers has been used for centuries.
The leaves contain flavonoids. In fact, it has been a part of herbal
tradition as far back as ancient Egypt. A confection made from the
herb was originally the inspiration for the candy known as marshmallow,
although the commercial product does not contain any of the plant.
Oatstraw Avena
sativa
Oats are a traditional staple of Northern Europe. Cereal made from
oatmeal (the crushed grain) is a nutritious breakfast that is now
a popular food in many parts of the world. The entire plant is referred
to as oatstraw, which is typically gathered for use in herbal blends
when the grain is ripe. Recent research has shown that oat bran and
to a lesser extent oatmeal, may help reduce high blood cholesterol.
Oatstraw contains saponins, flavonoids, a number of minerals vitamins
B1,B2,D,E and carotene, as well as wheat protein.
Passionflower
Passiflora incarnata
Passionflower was used by Native Americans and later "discovered"
by Spaniards in the 16th century. The herb became such an important
part of the diet of Spanish colonists that by the 17th century it
had even been incorporated into their religious beliefs. They crushed
the stem of the plant and brewed it into tea. One of its constituents,
passiflorine, reportedly promotes calmness and ability to sleep. A
vine-like plant with beautiful, colourful blooms, the passionflower
grows mainly in the southeastern parts of the United States. It is
the state flower of Tennessee.
Shavegrass
Equisetum arvense
Also known as horsetail grass, shavegrass is a member of one of the
oldest groups of plants on earth. The plant's success can be attributed
to its ability to grow in poor soil with minimum moisture. It has
been used both internally and externally since the 16th century, usually
as a powder. As an herb, the entire plant is used. It contains flavonoids
and minerals.
Slippery Elm Bark Ulmus rubra
The slippery elm tree is found in the central and northern parts of
the United States. A hardy plant, it grows in moist soils, bottomlands
and along stream banks as well as in poor, dry soil. Reaching heights
of up to 60 feet, the slippery elm has deeply furrowed bark and dark
green leaves. First used by North American Indians. Slippery elm can
be made into a lemonade drink by mixing the powdered leaves with enough
cold water to make a paste. Then gradually add one pint of boiling
water, squeeze in the juice from half a lemon, add honey to taste
and drink. At one time, the plant was listed in the US Pharmacopoeia,
a book describing medicinal preparations.
Yucca Yucca
schidigera/Yucca brevifolia
The yucca is a cactus-like succulent common to the western United
States and most of Mexico. Native Americans have commonly used it
for centuries as a soap for personal hygiene and also as a detergent
to clean clothing. The soap is derived from the roots of the yucca
plant.
